Their eyeshadows are just a better quality overall and it’s rare I have any pigmentation issues with them. If I am being 100% honest with you though, I feel like the Urban Decay Naked and Too Faced palettes trump this one a bit. You could create a million looks with this from daytime to smoky nighttime ones. A good mix of mattes, shimmers, glitters and metallics, and nice selection of shades from light to dark.
I think this is a really good palette if you don’t already have 1,000 neutral eyeshadows. The metallic and shimmery shades definitely were the most intense ones and the ones I liked the most. A few of the lighter shades are very light but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Dark Brew and Dancing in the Dark were the only mattes that looked uneven and I had to swatch them a few times to get the payoff I did. I found the pigmentation overall to be pretty good over a primer. Unwind is a medium olive greenish/gold metallic. Lemon Tart is a pale yellow/gold shimmer.īutterfudge is a shimmery light golden brown.ĭivine Decadence is a deep reddish brown with gold shimmer. I thought Cumulus was a repromote, but it's a totally different shade than the past limited edition release (from several years ago).Lemon Tart, Creative Copper, Butterfudge, Divine Decadence, Unwind (over primer) This palette also contained a few of repromotes/permanent shades: Blackberry, Brun, and Black Tied are part of the permanent range, while After Dusk, Deception, and Silver Fog were repromotes. In general, these shades wore well for eight hours without fading or creasing, but one of the Lustres did have noticeable fall out during wear.
I thought the pigmentation was weaker in this palette overall, and there were some shades with texture issues (most of them Lustres, though).
Not only is it labeled a cool palette, but it is the counterpart to the Warm Neutral palette, which was very warm-toned. Aside from some of the quality issues, one of the things I noticed as I used this palette was that it wasn't that cool-toned.
